Pastor Crossland received his Bachelor of Arts Degree (Major: History/Sociology/Social Studies), obtained a Master of Divinity Degree and an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree.
Pastor Crossland accepted his call to the ministry in 1972. He has pastored churches in New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina and Louisville, Kentucky in the A.M.E. Zion denomination for 33 years.
On December 4, 2006, Pastor Crossland founded Discovery Church, Inc. (a non-denominational ministry) which is now Discovery Christian Church, Inc. (KY). He serves as Senior Pastor and CEO of the church.
Since December of 2006, Pastor Crossland:
- Organized the church by writing the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Constitution and Vision/Mission Statements.
- Ordained four ministers: Executive Pastor & Vice President (Leonard E. McNairy); Minister of Christian Education (Velveeta R. Fuqua); Minister of Christian Evangelism & Outreach (Barbara A. Pleasant); Minister of Christian Music & Media (Terrell Crossland).
- Organized various boards/committees: Executive Board; Advisory Council; Children’s Ministry (Lisa Belmar, Director), Usher Ministry, Finance Ministry.
- Continues to hold Sunday Services (9:30 a.m.) at St. Patrick Dismas Men’s Facility at 13th and Market Streets.
But it is just as the Scriptures say, “What God has planned for people who love him is more than eyes have seen or ears have heard. It has never even entered our minds!”
